  3. Bag drop-off and chalk times

This section covers shipping morning — the day you depart BMT for your technical training location. Two parts:

  1. The documentation you must have on you to ship.
  2. The shipping flow at the Pfingston Reception Center (PRC).

Required documentation

Unless you have all of the documentation listed below, you will not ship to technical training.

  • Military ID Card
  • Full set of orders
  • Graduation Certificate
  • CAC / PIN Number Envelope ⁱⁱ
  • LAFB Form 205, BMT Report Card
  • Pen
  • Highlighter
  • BMT Study Guide

ⁱ Do not lose your Graduation Certificate. This is the only record you'll have to prove you accomplished your graduation requirements. It cannot be reprinted after departure from BMT.

ⁱⁱ CAC / PIN safekeeping. Airmen immediately need their Common Access Card (CAC) / Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) upon arrival to technical training. If you lose or misplace your CAC / PIN, you'll experience delays in training and logging onto the AF Network and email. Ensure the safekeeping of your own CAC / PIN.

Technical Training shipping flow

  1. Transit 30 minutes prior to chalk time (your assigned bag-drop time).
  2. Arrive at the PRC (walk or bus).
  3. Drop bags in your assigned location.
  4. Proceed to the auditorium for accountability.
  5. Receive shipping briefing.
  6. Pick up baggage.
  7. Proceed to bus assignment.

Inclement weather: Bags will be placed in the PRC lobby and Airmen in the auditorium. Lackland Airmen eat breakfast at the line squadron prior to transit to the PRC.
